2.1 Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials via our identity provider (Clerk). We do not store passwords directly.

2.2 API Specifications

You may upload OpenAPI/Swagger specification files to our platform. These files are processed to generate documentation and are stored on our servers for as long as your account is active.

2.3 Usage Data

We automatically collect usage analytics, including pages visited, features used, documentation views, and API interaction metrics to improve our service and provide dashboard analytics.

2.4 Payment Information

Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers or full payment details on our servers. We retain your Stripe customer ID and subscription status.

2.5 GitHub Integration

If you connect a GitHub repository, we store your GitHub personal access token (encrypted), repository details, and webhook configuration to enable automatic spec synchronization.

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the KodeDoc AI platform
  • To generate AI-powered API documentation from your specifications
  • To host and serve your published API documentation
  • To process payments and manage your subscription
  • To send service-related communications (e.g., billing, security alerts)

4. AI Processing

Your API specifications are sent to third-party AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic) to generate documentation content. These providers process data per their own privacy policies and do not use your data for model training. We send only the minimum data necessary for documentation generation.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with:

  • Clerk — Authentication and identity management
  • Stripe — Payment processing and subscription management
  • OpenAI / Anthropic — AI documentation generation
  • Infrastructure providers — Cloud hosting and CDN services

We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect our rights and safety.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (TLS), encrypted storage for sensitive tokens, webhook signature verification, rate limiting, and tenant-isolated data access. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account or an API project, associated data (specifications, generated documentation, analytics) is permanently removed within 30 days. Payment records are retained as required by applicable tax and financial regulations.
